ROFL BUT, I just spoke with the financial advisor there (Gloria Mercado, I think her name is) and she said that he hasn't been taking ANY insurance since April!!! I have a PPO, so I can use him as an 'out of network' surgeon if I choose... I have no idea whether he takes Medicare. This person *may not* be aware that the situation has changed... Was she pre or post-op???? The office didn't contact me about this switch at all -- My surgery was covered as was my three week post-op visit. Then, he just dropped everything and I went for my three month post-op and have to pay!!!! So, my suggestion is to make it very clear with the Mt. Sinai because if they haven't informed you it doesn't mean that it ain't true (unfortunately). all the best, lap ds with gallbladder removal January 25, 2001 Dr. Gagner/Mt.
