That is a tough decision. I think i would band again if you think you will look back later and wonder what if I would have. If you think you can be happy with his current headshape if it doesn't improve anymore than do not do a second band. I know that isn't much help. Good luck with your decision.

To band or not to band a second time??

My son who is 10 months old and has/had moderate to severe plagiocephaly, is about to finish his first DocBand. He has 4 weeks to go. At first, I thought we would only have this on for 4 months and be done and now the tech is saying that they recommend a second band. His head has grown 8 mm in 12 weeks and it has rounded out nicely although when his hair is wet and at certain angles, I still see the flatness on one side, although it is improved and with his hair, it's impossible to see when dry. My dilemna lies in if we should move forward for another band for 4 months. The tech said that she would classify his head now as mild to moderate and it really could go either way in whether or not we should band again even though she recommends it. At first I thought, no way, we are done, but in other ways I feel like we've gone this far, shouldn't we see it through...just wondering if a second band is really going to make that much difference...neither band is covered by insurance. So, my question is, does anyone have experience one way or another...wished they banded a second time and regret it or did band a second time and felt like it would've been fine had you not or are so happy that you banded a second time? Thank you.

With my son, they wanted to do another bad. He wore it for 3 months but grew so fast. His head was mild to moderate at the end (we started out really really bad) and we decided that he was done bc hes had to much trouble with it before with skin breakdown. Same thing with the wet hair and dry hair you cant see it. Its been almost a year since he graduated from the band and honestly the flat part has come out since then and the points have really softened. I dont even notice anymore when his hair is wet. Noone notices anymore. So do i regret not spending the 3000 and putting him through another horrible 4 months? NOt at all. If you can live with his head and he is happy then why do it. We all have things we dont like about ourselves and were all different. If you can only see it when wet then maybe he

wont swim alot. From: Angie P <apope04@...>Subject: Re: To band or not to band a second time??Plagiocephaly Date: Monday, October 11, 2010, 7:12 PM
