Guest guest
My is bcf and hasn't had the tenotomy. The right foot always was good with dorsiflexion but we are still " watching " the left foot, which is on the " hairy edge " of needing/not needing the tenotomy. Both Dr. Ponseti and our local ortho here thought it best to take a wait and see approach. She has a very mild rocker bottom which we are also watching. Lots of stuff to watch... Carol and , 10-27-05, bcf, 23/7 in shoes Re: Anyone who didn't need tenotomy? , was born with bcf too, and only needed a tenetomy (at Dr. Ponseti's office) on her left foot. Her right foot just had enough dorsiflexion to not deem it necessary. I don't think that not having it (as long as the dorsiflexion is there) would be cause for a relapse. There are several parents that post here whose kids didn't have the tenetomy at all...I would be curious to know how many were bcf, and how many were r or lcf, though... Guest guest
- My son is 18 months old today and has yet to need a tenetomy. He has bilateral clubfeet but was blessed with loose ligaments! His dorsiflexion is 15-20 degrees at least. take care, kathleen > > Thanks for the answers to my first tenotomy question. > > I'm curious to know how many parents on this board did not need the > tenotomy.
