Dr. Ponseti thinks he can correct her foot in three casts. We go next Wednesday

(8th) then the following Wednesday then the next Monday. It's almost

unbelievable that within four weeks we are going to be done - - - since we've

been working so far for six months!! It took the whole day yesterday to work

out travel, our other children's arrangements, insurance, etc. but is SOOOO

worth it!

Terri,

You'll definitely be in awe when you get to Iowa. Personally, our

first visit to Iowa was the very first time that the weight of worry

about 's future was lifted from my shoulders- it had plagued me

from the moment she was born and we rec'd the initial diagnosis of

clubfoot. I knew that the best place in the world for my daughter

at that point was in the hands of Dr. Ponseti...it was a huge

relief. Hopefully you'll enjoy your trip to Iowa City- it's hard to

describe to someone who has never been there, but for so many of us,

it's really a fantastic personal experience as well as the great .

You meet so many wonderful people (including the wonderful Dr. P

himself) and you get to experience being a part of your child's

correction in a way that you actually kind of understand what's

going on....it's awesome. I like going to Iowa even more than my

almost 6 year old. :)

We look forward to hearing your updates.

Safe travels!
