I think he 'prioritizes' the files and will submit a week or so prior to surgery. I was on pins and needles. It wasn't that my insurance was known for denials (Oxford Freedom) but I had a bmi of 45 and no real 'serious' co-morbidities so I feared they might give me a hard time. I mean, calling and bugging him sounds good but honestly it didn't work with me! Sorry to hear about the anesthesiologist bill - what a pisser. I hope it can all be worked out. It's so inane to get bills when you shouldn't. I recently got a bill for my labwork -- it was over 1,000 bucks! Holy Cow! I didn't know all those tests cost that much. Turns out they used my old insurance number and that's why it was denied. I got it put through and it *SHOULD* be taken care of! LOL all the best, lap ds with gallbladder removal January 25,2 001 Dr. Gagner/Mt. Guest guest
Not only do you have a date but you have the wonderful Dr. Herron. He is very compassionate and gets back to you via e-mail. I wish you luck and congrats. Ellen(Pam

I was self-referring out of network. All this crap was listed in my file, along with a letter from my PCP and my letter, etc etc. So when he finally started on my file, he called my PCP and of course they could not refer. So I get this message from him that I was denied. ANd the reason was my PCP would not refer me. So when I straightened out the whole mess, after calling my PCP and the insurance company, I called him back and left a rather stern message that if he looked at my file he would see that I was self-referring and if I needed to do this myself to please send my file to me. He called me back the next day with the good news that I was approved. LOL. Sheri

I think it does help to call just to find out what's up but he just wouldn't budge on moving up submission of my approval man. I was a nervous wreck two weeks before the surgery! I got word that I had been approved a week beforehand! Whew! all the best,
Guest guest
, Daryl seems to pull those last minute approvals out his wazoo, or butt hole, or some place. LOL Smiles, Sheri
