Donna,

I'm no Scot (we got here by way of Poland and Roumania) but I picked up my

taste for haggis in Edinburgh and at numerous Masonic " Bobbie Burns

Night's! "

Judie,

You don't really want to know! But... if you're a total masochist, when a

sheep is butchered, it's all the leftovers and bit & pieces after all the

good stuff has been used, that are mixed with oats (oatmeal?), and spices

and boiled in the sheep's stomach. If you like scrapple, there is a

similarity.

Don't believe it. Haggis is one of the world's greatest culinary delights.

Otherwise, why would we Scots serve it at every Robbie Burns Dinner and read

the haggis it's own poem.

Nick,

I didn't say it wasn't good-I love the stuff!!! It just SOUNDS worse than it

tastes. I've done my share of Bobbie Burns Nights (including the plungeing

of the dagger into the haggis after the recital of his " Ode to a Haggis. "

I'm very close to getting my husband to wear the kilt with me. Gotta love

those men in kilts!!! My husband thinks it's the only reason I play the

pipes in a band!!

Marcia,

Isn't Edinburgh the most beautiful city on earth!! I was just there for my

third time this past spring .. I LOVE Scotland. I have piped at

Burns night celebrations but have yet to be brave and/or drunk enough to try

haggis :o)
