A coincidence??? Prilosec!

To anyone with pharmacological knowledge or experience,

Two months ago (3 months post-op) I went through a plateau for about 3

weeks- even gained about 5 lb. As chance would have it, I ran out of my

Prilosec Rx. Over the next month, I dropped 25 lb. (During that same month,

I was waiting for my Prilosec refill to come in. My reflux was bad but

controllable with Tums and Pepcid Complete). I started taking my Prilosec

again about a week and a half ago and, boom, not only haven't I lost weight,

but I gained about 5 lb. (have since gone down 1 lb). Is there any relation

between weight gain, slackening of weight loss, or plateaus and Prilosec. My

taking of, cessation of, and re-starting doses of Acidopholous also

coincided with the Prilosec usage. Or is this all coincidence and I'm going

through another, damnable plateau that I'll just have to " weight out? "

(LOL). I know I shouldn't complain; I'm only 4 3/4 months post-op, I'm the

lowest I've been in 15 years, and even counting the gain, I'm still 80 lb.

lighter. But, d---it, for a week there, I was under 200 lb. and I hate

putting that 2 back in front of the remaining two digits!

Enquiring minds need to Know.

Methinks it is coincidence. Sorry, no easy way out--except that you

might see if a few Krispy Kreme doughnuts work for/on you the way

they do for Mike Hensel.
