Guest guest
I've been really debating about posting this, but I need some feedback. A little history: Rose started treatment with Dr. Ponseti after 6 months of casting for a unilateral left clubfoot. Dr. Ponseti did one cast, and a week later he did the tenotomy. Rose was released from FAB wear at 2.5 due to loose ligaments. Last year, before kindergarten Rose was noticeably weaker in her left leg, so she received some PT. It seemed to help. In November Rose had a checkup with Dr. P, and he was very pleased with the function and how Rose used her foot. About a month, or maybe even two, ago, Rose started complaining about aches and pains. The top of her calf muscle ached, last week her hip hurt (sounded like sciatica when she described it because the pain went down her leg), and last night she complained of another ache. When she showed it to me, she said it kept popping and had me feel it. It was right on, or next to her tenotomy scar. When she rotated her foot while pointed, she said it would sting like a bee sting (not that she's been stung, but that is what she said). She's also had some knee complaints and has been complaining in gym class. Rose does have a slight leg length discrepancy, and I have to wonder if it is contributing in some way. I keep wondering if it's normal aches and pains (growing pains has been suggested by a couple of people), or if it's something beyond that. With the arrival of Grant in our lives, who has numerous doctor visits, I wonder if this is her bid for " attention " . I don't want to dismiss it as that, in the event there is something wrong. I also worry that she doesn't want to participate in gym for some reason. Any thoughts or ideas?? I'm thinking of emailing or calling Dr. Ponseti, but I thought some feedback might be in order. Thanks!!
