Guest guest
Hi guys, We have a unique situation in that we adopted our daughter recently, so she is a little older than the average child getting used to the bar at night.....I have read the widening of the bar setting suggestions and have tried different sleeping positions...all for naught....her shoes are not too tight and we have loosened them wwwayyyy up.....she is literally waking up every 20 minutes crying. During the day she's fine. Anybody in a similar situation? Help! artlovr wrote: I posted about this same problem last week. My son is 13 months old and we have given up on the crib and moved to the pack and play. For the last three months, he has usually woken up very early in the morning...4:30, 5, 5:50 or 6, crying and obviously still tired. We tried different things with the shoes and the bar but the problem continued. He got several teeth all at once so we thought that was the problem. Finally, last week we switched to the pack and play for naps and night time. It took him a few days to adjust to not getting up early and I am happy to report that the last two mornings he woke up a little after 7 am happy and talking. (just watch, now that I have written this, he will be up at the crack of dawn tomorrow.) 06-19-05 > Hi all, > My son is 10 months old now and wearing the shoes only when he sleeps > at night. Guest guest
Sort of similar situation. My son is back to wearing the bar(Dobbs brace) at night for being retreated for his bilateral CF. He just turned 4 and we have had many restless nights since. He used to sleep through the night before he started wearing the bar. It has been hard not to want to take the brace off just so we all could sleep, but I have been diligent. I know it is just uncomfortable for him b/c he can tell me. We make sure he is cool enough, he wears his brace at night so we put his brace on at least an hour before he goes to bed. We also put a pillow behind his knees. Sometimes we give him motrin when he complains of pain. He is finally sleeping through the night(for the most part) after being back in the brace for over a month. Hope your daughter is sleeping soon. > > Hi guys, > We have a unique situation in that we adopted our daughter recently, > so she is a little older than the average child getting used to the > bar at night.....I have read the widening of the bar setting > suggestions and have tried different sleeping positions...all for > naught....her shoes are not too tight and we have loosened them > wwwayyyy up.....she is literally waking up every 20 minutes crying. > During the day she's fine. Guest guest
, If she is fine with the brace during the day, I say there is something amiss that is keeping her from getting comfortable to sleep for very long. Do you think she is banging the bar waking herself up? How wide is her bar? You've checked to see that her shoulders fit between the heels of the shoes? If this does not seem to help, maybe she is the opposite, maybe she needs it narrower? How long has she been in the brace? When she wakes up crying does she cry herself back to sleep or seem still half asleep when you go to her and falls right back to sleep? Or is she wide awake and crying and takes a while to get back to sleep? Sorry for all the questions, just hoping I can get a better handle on this if I have a little more info - then we can help you get your little one sleeping through the night. Guest guest
It's a mixture of how awake she is....I rub her toes or her legs to get her back to sleep....I am going to widen the brace setting tonight, but it didn't help the one night.... I think it's a frustration thing... She's in a pack and play so it's not a banging problem... She has been in for three weeks now...... wrote: , If she is fine with the brace during the day, I say there is something amiss that is keeping her from getting comfortable to sleep for very long.
