Guest guest
I wouldn't say that is normal for RSS, I don't think it has anything to do with RSS. Some of our kids have sensory issues and that may be a factor, although it is not linked to RSS. I just wonder if at that age of 2, this young girl was just overwhelmed by the sights, and the sounds and the activity that a wedding can bring (piles of people in a small space) and she was probably, justifiably so, anxious and found comfort in doing this. I would only be concerned if this behaviour was happening pretty much all the time. Kids can still be very oral at the age of 2 and most certainly revert back to previous stages of development when feeling anxiety. Debby BITING > Just a quick question. Guest guest
From what my mother tells me this is a normal thing for maddie... but at the reception she was running around and biting was not an issue... my mother also says maddie acts out a lot especially in public... is this common? her speech still is not thre... although she does say a few words and tries its a lot of mumble jumbo you can pick up a few words but not many its kinda like the twin language...SHe does have a sister very close in age to her. My husband says maybe she acts out to express herself or bites to cope with her not being able to verbally express. What do you think? > > > I wouldn't say that is normal for RSS, I don't think it has anything to do > > with RSS. Guest guest
I am no specialist or a doctor, but I do know that it is not a " common " part of RSS at all. Now the speech delay seems to be more common in RSS children. There could be many other " reasons " furthermore, it could be exactly what your husband says, it's her way of communicating right now. At the age of 2, things can be very oral still. Is Maddie's mom worried? Guest guest
Maddie's mother passes it off and doesn't really pay attention she is a very young mother. My mother however is a little concerned and doesn't know why maddies does this... I however, worry so much about her b/c I know she doesn't get all the care she needs for her RSS. Thanks for your input > > > > > > > I wouldn't say that is normal for RSS, I don't think it has > > anything to do > > > > with RSS.
