Guest guest
Here you go ! Hope this helps! Two ways of determining target height. 1) Take mom and dad's height in inches, add together, divide in half, and add 2 inches for a boy and subtract 2 inches for a girl. 2) For a boy: Add 5 inches to mom's height in inches, add this to dad's height and divide by 2. For a girl: subtract 5 inches from dad's height in inches, add this to mom's height and divide by 2. Both of these above projections are usually conservative estimates (meaning the child is often taller than this.) HUGS!!!! Guest guest
Hi , Our pediatric endocrinologist used the following to predict my son's height. 1). She converted my height and my wife's height to precentiles. 2). Next, she found the difference between the 2 percentiles. 3). Divide the difference by 2. 4). Add this number to the lower percentile and that is the child's predicted percentile. Convert that to inches. Example: I am in the 45th percentile. My wife is in the 60th percentile The difference is 15 and divide that by 2 you get 7.5. Add 7.5 to 45th percentile and you get 52.5 So my son should be a little over the 50th percentile which would make him about 6 feet tall. However, with RSS, extrapolating his growth curve, he should make it to 62 inches (before we started growth hormone). I hope this helps. Ken M 4).
