Guest guest
HI all! We haven't checked in much this past year since buying our first home last July and making a HUGE transition out of the ARMY life! Well Grace is approaching her 5th birthday on Aug. 23.....Boo Hoo. Anyway she is still in the brace w/no protesting what so ever. I think I am the one that is sick to death of it! But, trust me EVER so THANKFUL for it at the same time. I will admit I sortive skipped out on her last checkup several months ago......just being FED up w/Drs in general and never getting any answers. So, rather than finding out more possible problems we just did a once over and are going with our guts that things are fine. I was wondering though; How many others are still in the brace at age 5? What about age 6? I think the more severe cases should definetly remain in them longer. Grace went to her Nanna and Poppies for two weeks and just came home on Saturday. Well since she came home I have noticed her foot dragging and NOT planting her heel on the ground again. I have been freaking out a bit. Her Nanna did put the brace on though all but I think 2-3 days (NOT consecutive). Im wondering if she didn't have her heel in all the way so that she slept with it drawn up? Her Nanna also bought an umbrella stroller (gggrrrrr!!!) and pushed Grace nearly everywhere. Wish I would have known this ahead!! Im hoping she's just needs to go for her daily walks around the neighborhood to fix the weakness. Well, Im glad from what I have read today that the babies all seem to be doing fairly well! Hope everyone has had a great summer. I guess its a good sign that a whole year has passed that I DIDN't NEED to post of any urgent problems or concerns!! Guest guest
Hi, & Grace! Good to 'see' you! You know, it's hard for me to keep track of how old everyone's kids are now, but I know of at least one 6 yr old in the brace (went back in after a brief hiatus) and one 6 yr old who just came out of the brace recently. I'm sure there are a bunch of 4-5 year olds still wearing them at night...hopefully the parents will pipe up. I'm glad that you haven't had a 'need' to post recently. That's great! It sounds like everything is going great for you guys. Please keep us posted and I hope Grace's foot comes back around quickly- I know you've been through the wringer with her treatment! How are *your* feet holding up (and your brother?)? I hope they're not giving you more trouble than they used to! Happy early birthday to Grace! & (3-16-00, lcf) > > HI all!
