Guest guest
Christee, If I had to guess I would say it is because he wants to give her more free time to keep her from getting sores. If he feels like her feet are well corrected, and perhaps even getting better after having been in the PMs for a while, he may feel it is more detrimental that she stay in the shoes long hours because of her propensity to develop these sores. But again, I'm just guessing... allison > > I sent some pics to Dr. P by request of since she still has red marks, but no more sores...yet! YAY! We have been sore free for a month now! ) > She started crawling a little last week. She is getting better every day. Although she hasnt learned to crawl with the PM's on yet. Today she has the Flu. ( > Dr. Ponseti replied and wants up to drop her to 10hrs a day! Hmmm. I emailed him and asked why, and what he based his decision on. No reply to that yet. She is 9 1/2 months, just learned to crawl, she can pull herself up and stand (wobbly) holding on. Not even near walking yet! Has anyone else heard of Dr. P dropping hrs like this? She was at 14-16 hrs. I thought this was odd. I am anxiously waiting to hear his relpy as to why. Any suggestions or anyone else had this? > > > Christee > Mother of... > *Josh~Learning/Speech Delays (9) > **Aspen~ Bilateral Metatarsus Adductus (6) > ***Dylan~PTSD/Anxiety (4) > ****Lilee~A-Typical UCF w/Plantaris ® & Metatarsus Adductus (L) > *P/M Brace 16-18/24.Struggling w/pressure sores (8 months) > Concidering Dobbs bar & braces > > > > > > > --------------------------------- > Talk is cheap. Guest guest
Hi Christee - We just saw Dr. P last week and he reduced 's hours to 12-14 from 16 hours. I asked him " already? " as I'm afraid of relapses, but he said that her feet were flexible enough and that keeping the P/M off for that long would be good for her development. was just under 9 months when he saw her. She just started to crawl and loves to stand, but cannot walk yet. also had some red spots from the P/M on one of her feet. Her red spots are gone now! Best, Yuuko and (DOB 8.4.05; P/M 12-14/7) > > > > I sent some pics to Dr. P by request of since she > still has red marks, but no more sores...yet! YAY! Guest guest
Christee- My son was reduced to 10 hours by his doctor and agreed with by Dr ponseti-however, we just do straight bedtime which it ends up being 12 to 13 hours in the brace. Basically he is out of the brace during the day, come nighttime brace goes on and when he wakes up 12 hours or so later-off go the shoes! hope this helps, kathleen > > I sent some pics to Dr. P by request of since she still has red marks, but no more sores...yet!
