Guest guest
If it is just a few hours, then I think that will be fine, but I would not leave the brace off (without the casts) for more than that. We left our appointment where the last casts were removed and within an hour we were home with the brace on. I wanted to give a chance to get used to the brace before the evening when we would all try to go to sleep. I think it made the first night better that we did it this way. Good luck to you and Lorenzo! Carol and first day in mitchell brace On 10th of april, if all is OK lorenzo will remove his last cast. in that day he should wear for the first time the brace. in your opinion can I leave him some time whitout the brace? after the visit by dr we'll come back home by train and I'm afraid that he cried in the train all time. thanks anna from italy mom to lorenzo rcf
Guest guest
Hi , After Lorenzo's last casts are removed he will wear the brace for 23 hours a day. It is very important to brace him the full 23 hours as regression can happen quite quickly to a newly corrected foot - like in a matter of hours. So you will want him in his brace on the train for sure! Remember, Lorenzo will adjust to the brace, it becomes normal for them, they have never known anything else. In fact, our daughter Grace who is 20 months old will not sleep at night without her brace on. So just stick with it and it will be OK....it only took our daughter a day or 2 to adjust to wearing it Smiles, & Grace 20mos unilateral right club foot FAB 23/7 > > On 10th of april, > if all is OK lorenzo will remove his last cast. > in that day he should wear for the first time the brace. > > in your opinion can I leave him some time whitout the brace? > > after the visit by dr we'll come back home by train and I'm afraid > that he cried in the train all time. > > thanks > > anna from italy mom to lorenzo rcf >
Guest guest
, The train ride from Rome to Aversa or Piazza Garibaldi is what? About two hours, maybe, three, right? I would leave them on him, and just take them off if you really think you need to. I think that you will be surprised at how well he will do with them. He might not cry at all! If you leave them on him on the train, you can bring him home, take the shoes off and give him a nice bath, instead of putting the shoes back on as soon as you are off of the train. I agree with what others have said, though. It is very important that Lorenzo wears the s for 23 hours a day for the first 3 months or so. That goes for that first day, too!
