Guest guest
Dear , I weighed 230 lbs. (my highest weight pre-surgery was about 238-240 lbs.) with a BMI of 40 when I had Lap BPD/DS over 7 months ago. I knew myself and I couldn't of dealt with the lifestyle after an RNY. With a VBG, Lap Band or Proximal RNY I probably would have gained all my weight back plus some and needed a revision eventually. I felt that the DS was the surgery that was least likely to fail me. I didn't look at my weight as 230 lbs. I was steadily gaining weight and I am sure that I would have probably hit 300 lbs. one day. Jane J. 38 yrs. old 230/151 (-79 lbs) Lap BPD/DS 4/26/01 >>I WOULD > BE BETTER OFF WITH RNY....I WEIGH 250. PEOPLE HAVE BEEN TELLING ME THAT DS > IS BETTER FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE MORE OVERWEIGHT THAT ME...
