Hi all, just wanted to let you know that turns 17 months

today and is so close to walking!!! She does cruise, but has yet to

stand independently. Yesterday she let go of a chair while standing

for a few seconds before falling to the floor, so I think she is

coming along nicely. Her therapist has encouraged us to let her use

her walker (the kind you push) to walk a block to the school each

day when we pick up my son. We have done this three days and it

seems to be helping strengthen her. Not to mention how cute it is to

see this little babe walking down the street! She stops and points

at everything and it takes a long time to get there, but this is her

first chance at real exploration. She loves the neighbors

rhododendron plant, and keeps pointing at it and saying " Oh,

ooohhh " . I can't wait to see her reaction when it actually blooms!

Right now it is just greenery. I'm grateful that part of our yard is

fenced because I can see already that she is going to be a real

handful when she gets more independence with her walking. As it is

she steers the walker toward the playground and screams when I point

her the other way, walks a few steps, then turns the walker back

toward the playground again. Strong willed!
