Guest guest
Hi , I couldn't find any PaddyMack.com website to see what you're talking about. However there is universal confusion about bar length. Most of the literature says shoulder width bolt to bolt, however most children are best comfortable somewhere in between bolt to bolt and heel to heel (insides of heels) leaning towards heel to heel as most popular with the kidlets. Bolt to bolt, is often too short and causes discomfort and can also encourage slipping out of the shoes. Too wide, also the same problems. Night waking, by far is the first sign that the bar length needs to be longer so watch for that change and check the bar up against baby's shoulders. No need to measure, just lie the bar on the floor soles down and see if your baby can fit comfortably (not too loose, not too tight) in between the heels of the shoes at the shoulders. The gold bars are measured from center of the bolt holes IIRC. I don't think the ends of the bar are included in the sizing on these. Is there some question you had about bar length and ordering? Have you considered getting an adjustable length bar so you won't have to order new ones all the time? Fillauer makes an adjustable bar, it is red. There is also an adjustable gold bar but I don't like the idea of the ends sticking out and poking me with that one. There are also gold bars that have three holes in each end that can extend through three size ranges as you switch holes. These too have some end sticking out when set at the inner holes. Guest guest
Hi Kori, www.paddymack.com sells padded covers for the DBB, not the DBBs themselves. So my question isn't about the length of the bar for the shoe placement. Thanks anyway! > >I've sent an email to PaddyMack's customer service, but am wondering if > >anyone else noticed that the measuring instructions say to measure > >from " bolt to bolt. Guest guest
ok, that is confusing... the arrows don't point to the same place on either side of the bar. I too wonder where exactly they want you to measure from. well... I guess I'd just wait for a response from them. In the meantime, you could always make your own bar cover. Get some pipe foam from the hardware store, some cloth athletic tape (even electrical works) and a pair of scissors and cut out around the top under the shoes till it fits nicely. You could even go a bit further and hot glue a piece of fabric to it to make it pretty. We used plain pipe foam covered with black athletic tape for years hehe... then again... I didn't really care what it looked like and when she stood the athletic tape really held up. Thanks for the info on the website! What makes me think this is one of our kids, this famous Macklan... :~} Kori At 02:09 PM 5/16/2006, you wrote: >Hi Kori, > >www.paddymack.com sells padded covers for the DBB, not the DBBs >themselves. Guest guest
I just looked at this site. They are selling bar covers and pads for $25 & $30, or $15 for just the cloth cover. Sounds a little pricey to me. , in regards to your question, I think you would have to measure from end of bar to end of bar on the gold bar if you wanted it entirely covered, but I'm not sure how their pad would work with the big bolts on the bottom of the gold bar. Hope they give you some good feedback. Let us know what they say. > > >I've sent an email to PaddyMack's customer service, but am > wondering if > > >anyone else noticed that the measuring instructions say to measure > > >from " bolt to bolt.
