Guest guest
Ok we ended up at the er last night because the nurse came out to replace the IV but she had already developed a blood clot. So They were able to get the clot out with TPA and then they tried to keep her cause her sugar dropped to 72, I gave her orange juice through the tube and her sugar 15 min later was up to 224. They were freakin out. Luckily the ER doc knew Maddy and explained to the staff about RSS and how Maddy was on the rebound from having a low sugar and would probably be all over the place for a few days and they agreed to let her go home. If only it ended there........... On the way home from the hospital the pump started to beep i pulled over and it said downward acclusion but I couldn't find anything wrong. If i canged her position it would work but once she rolled over or moved it would beep again. So I came home flused the line and was meeting resistance however the line was working so i called the nurse ( it's 2am by now) and told her that I would stay up all night so I could listen for the pump but I needed her out first thing in the morning. My husband agreed to stay up with me for moral support LOL. Well we finally passed out at 6:15 and never heard the alarm go off so louis woke us up at 8:10 when he should be in scholl by 8:15. So I rushed to get him off to school before the nurse showed up. Turns out they had to change the IV again and now we're working. Lets hope we get atleast a week out of it this time. Guest guest
So, your saga continues too. Poor thing. I hope you guys get some sleep and Maddy has success with this IV. Keeps you on your toes. Let us know when you find out for sure about the surgery. I know, like you are looking forward to that, right!? Ugh! But, since I will be in NY on the 21st, I want to try to stop by if you are around. Take care, Jodi R. > > Ok we ended up at the er last night because the nurse came out to replace > the IV but she had already developed a blood clot.
