Guest guest
Hi Deb I didnt reply to your survey because Liam just doesnt eat, but found it interesting reading the responses. If Liam is going to lick anything its something salty like crisps, he will ask for bread or toast if he asks for anything else. The salt thing has always amazed me, I know a few of the RSS kids crave it. We have to hide the salt shakers in our house, Liam will sit under a table or run off somewhere and not stop eating it if he gets a chance. We recently saw a new GI specialist, who suggested Liam may well have low sodium at certain times because of his constipation(when your gut is moving slowly or blocked up you reabsorb into the gut) Its the only explanation a Dr has ever come up with, so Im not ruling it out. I find these informal surveys fasinating(?sp). Have a great week Jody(mum to Liam 4 87cm 10.8kg gtube gh losec movicol) > Interesting responses to my informal survey. I had 18 respondents all together, but some trends were noticed but again this was just out of curiosity. I'll share with you what I found. > > Keeping in mind S's point about craving carbs.....which was the overwhelming number one. Also the sweet vs spicy debate. I wonder if " we " as expectant mothers craved one type of food more than the others and as a result our kids' bodies do as well (and maybe our bodies were trying to tell us the baby needed more of something because of the RSS?????) Ah to be a scientist with a bazillion dollars!! > > Ok interesting thing I found was what was NOT mentioned. MILK. Yes, I did say just food, but some people added in drinks as well. We should look at that too. Adam drinks milk reluctantly, he was a water or apple juice kid for years (and just this past year has developed a love of Coke.....but only at room temperature.....I think it has to do with the fizz). > > Anyway, our kids seem to be pretty much into other milk products. It was either " nothing " or chicken. Wow chicken came up alot. Also heard about roast beef. Guest guest
Debby, thank you. It was very interesting. Although I forgot to mention pasta which add to your case (Ian loves macaroni and cheese) - but, what I found even more interesting was your comment about what we as expectant mothers craved. Scary - but, all I ever wanted was onions and tomato sandwiches. And, I was almost never hungry although I forced myself to eat lot's every day and managed to gain 30 pounds. I knew something was wrong early on........(my other pregnancy I wanted only Portillo's cheeseburgers, fries, chocolate shakes, and their famous chocolate cake - which I honestly ate atleast 3 times a week) - needless to say - I gained 50 pounds!) LOL Thanks for the info - again, very interesting. - H > Interesting responses to my informal survey. Guest guest
For the first trimester, I didn't want to eat at all. Steve followed me around the house with these fruit shakes to at least get me to eat/drink something. The next 4 months all I ate was macaroni and cheese. I had the twins at 33 weeks. The funny thing is, could live on pasta and Becca won't touch it. Judith, Steve, (RSS) and (non RSS) 5 year old twins
