Guest guest
I have been lurking here for a few weeks. My son was born with bilateral club feet. He is now 17 months old. We are seeing a DR that somewhat follows the Ponseti method from what I can tell. was first casted at 5 days old. Had a few months of cast and then plastic braces that I could not keep on for the life of me. He had his tendon cut at about 8-9m and then after cast was in the DBB. Te bar he had had regular shoes attached to the bar, so he was finally able to learn how to get the shoes off. Yes he is a determined little bugger. (Crawling at 6m and only took less then 30min to figure how to climb the stairs with a full leg cast at 8m) We have just got the DBB with the Markell Shoes. The place we got them from was no help in placing the shoes on. I have many issues with the company, but noone else to get them from around here. How do I know the shoes are on right and what degree are the shoes to be at?? The DR wants 70degrees on the 'bad' club foot and 30 on the 'good' foot. Does that sound right?? Also I have ready that some of you send pictures to DR. Ponsetti for him to look at. Can anyone send pictures for a 2nd opinion?? Does it cost?? Where do I send them? I wish I found this site 17 months ago when we found out he had a club foot. Thanks Deb
