Guest guest
, I would have to say that I agree with Jodi. We were told to hold off on solids because they take longer to digest, and didn't contain as many calories as 's high calorie formula. He was on 30kcal/oz mixture at that time. The Ped felt, at that age, that calories were more important than oral eating skills. Guest guest
You have gotten a lot of good advice, but for what it is worth, I'll tell you my story. I know that any food is not recommended under the age of 6 months, however when my kids were little {one with RSS, one without} our GP was " old school " and she had me start the kids on pabulum {rice} at two or 3 months and then the next month we moved to baby food {always peas first, because I got a kick out of the poop during green}. Adam, {my RSS one} never had a feeding tube, never had gut issues or delayed emptying or reflux. Also allergies do not run in our family {all the things already mentioned that you should watch out for}. It's a tough decision and you should discuss the pros and cons with your ped. Also Adam was not on any high calorie formulas or anything {no one even suspected there was anything wrong with him until his second birthday} Good luck Debby Re: Re: Starting baby foods - > , > > I would have to say that I agree with Jodi.
