Interesting responses to my informal survey. I had 18 respondents all together,

but some trends were noticed but again this was just out of curiosity. I'll

share with you what I found.

Keeping in mind S's point about craving carbs.....which was the

overwhelming number one. Also the sweet vs spicy debate. I wonder if " we " as

expectant mothers craved one type of food more than the others and as a result

our kids' bodies do as well (and maybe our bodies were trying to tell us the

baby needed more of something because of the RSS?????) Ah to be a scientist with

a bazillion dollars!!

Ok interesting thing I found was what was NOT mentioned. MILK. Yes, I did say

just food, but some people added in drinks as well. We should look at that too.

Adam drinks milk reluctantly, he was a water or apple juice kid for years (and

just this past year has developed a love of Coke.....but only at room

temperature.....I think it has to do with the fizz).

Anyway, our kids seem to be pretty much into other milk products. Cheese was the

most common, followed by yogurt and ice cream.

Salt came up alot. I found that intriguing. Adam discovered salt this past week

(he never paid attention to it before) and now he wants salt on every thing.

The against (or hate foods) were another interest. It seems are kids are on the

extreme......most kids don't like the sweets but some do, and some hate any kind

of meat.

The spicy vs sweet idea was common. Again it was one or the other (no

in-between).

As for vegetables......broccoli, carrots, corn and beans were mentioned often.

Fruit.......grapes and berries were hugely popular; then melon fruit and apples.

For meat? It was either " nothing " or chicken. Wow chicken came up alot. Also

heard about roast beef. (maybe chicken is easier to digest? to chew with their

weak muscles????)

As for the main food, it was overwhelmingly carbs. Pasta was the most often

cited food of them all (90% of us said pasta) Followed by potatoes (in any

form); then pizza, hot dogs, noodle soup (I would put that with the pasta

group); tacos, rice crackers and rice.

For sweets; chocolate or tootsie rolls were the only ones mentioned. No cookies,

or cakes (muffins were mentioned though).......

Anyway, I was just curious and thought I would share what everyone had said.

Please remember this was not a scientific survey and not to put any weight on

the results, it was just something I was curious about.
