I know that I have to call Yvonne (Gagner's nurse) on Monday to find out when to report on Tuesday for surgery, but I don't know if I'm supposed to fast that day, take Fleets Phospho-Soda (I hope not; just drank it for a colonoscopy and wanted to HURL! How can anyone consume an entire JUG of GoLytely?!), or just fast from midnight on. Have you been given ANY preparatory instructions? >> I wasn't given any preparatory instructions even when I was there yesterday. So today Dr Gagner's office called with my time of surgery and in passing mentioned my liquied diet the day before. I said I was never told to go on a liquid diet. She said it was in the info they mailed to me. It's not in that info or in anything they gave me so I wondered if it's really true. It ill be very difficult for me to not eat all day Sunday. I hate to contact Dr G about such a mundane thing, but all day Sunday when I won't be eating until Wednesday as it is seems very difficult. I also left a message with his service, so I hope I hear back one way or the other Sheryl

I left a message and Dr Pomp was the one who called me back. He said he has all of his patients go on liquids the day before, and if Dr Gagner's assistant said to do that I should. There was no mention of it in any of the papers either. So I still think she was mistaken, but what can I do since it's first thing Monday. I'm flying to NY tomorrow and checking into the Mt Sinai Guest Residence. It's going to be difficult taking my own liquids, but I guess I have no choice Sheryl

Guest guest
Dr. K has his patients go on liquids the day before surgery, too, along with that lovely bottle of whatchacallit that sends you to the bathroom for hours... I can't wait. <g> ~alyssa Re: Re: pre-op for > Thank you patti and Theresa, but it looks like I'm about to starve. I left a > message and Dr Pomp was the one who called me back.
