Empire BC/BS

Hi All,

I've been researching insurance companies here in NYC since I currently don't

have coverage. After numerous telephone calls, three feet of insurance books

and forms that I've received, reading and more telephone calls to verify what

I'm interpreting contracts to say, I've come up Empire Blue Cross/Blue Shield

as being the best as far as coverage and participating physicians (at least

for me).

According to their contract they cover WLS if you have co-morbidities. I

called and asked this exact question (figured I had nothing to lose). They

told me yes, that if there are medical reasons for the surgery and not just

for cosmetic, it would be covered.

My question - has anyone used Empire BC/BS? Did you have a problem getting

the DS covered?
