Guest guest
Hi - Welcome to the group. I have a 10 month old and it seems like we were just there yesterday! Don't worry, the heel gradually goes down over a period of a couple of weeks. Just make sure that it doesn't slip out. They get used to it quite quickly and now that 's been wearing her P/M for about 8 months now she does everything with them and they don't seem to bother her at all. Good luck! Guest guest
Hi and welcome With the shoes, it is very common that in the beginning the heel does not fit down in the heel-pocket of the shoe. Usually after a few weeks wear you'll notice it going in though and getting better with time - it's just the nature of the beast in this case and doesn't affect correction. Just make sure you are bending the leg at the knee and dorsiflexing the foot as you slip it in to the shoe as far back as you can, and hold it there as you strap that middle buckle as tight as you can. There are various ways of doing this - what ever you find most successful of course is the way you should do it. Some have the baby lay on a table, for example, while they apply the shoes but honestly I can't do it that way to save my life! lol (Hi Kori!) I sit the infant on my lap, facing away from me and put his shoes on him that way. Experiment with different methods to find the way you feel most comfortable with. Putting on the shoes does take practice but soon it'll be old hat to you and the baby. Make sure his foot is flat down in the shoe right now, even if the heel isn't seated in the pocket of the back. It'll ease back in there pretty soon with constant wear. Good luck, shawnee hi...new to group....
