It is not necessary common for kids with clubfeet, but most doctors keep an eye

out for hip problems in little ones with clubfeet. We never had a problem, but

our ped. thought his hips felt stiff one day. I knew that he was just

resisting, but because he thought they were and it was easy to check, we had an

x-ray and all was fine.

If Dr. Van Bosse thinks there is a problem, I would think an x-ray would rule

it in our out. I hope you are able to find more in your research, but rest

assured it was not the DBB or anything you did if something is going on with his

hips!

I had to the pediatrician today for his 4 month check-up and

she told me have Dr. Van Bosse check his hips. She said that the

creases under his rear end (when he is laying flat on his stomach) are

shallow and seem asymmetrical to her. Does anyone have any experience

with anything like this? Could it have anything to do with his DBB?

He's in it 23/7 and I thought we were doing well. I would like to do

some research before we see Dr. VB on August 1st, but I don't know

where to begin. TIA

Aleksander had his hips checked as well, but he was breech so that

was more of the concern for him.

He had two ultrasounds on his hips when he was really young...around

1 - 2 months for the first one, and then a follow-up a few months

later.

He was early and breech...and I know both were factors in his

doctor's desire for the ultrasounds on his hips. They wanted to

make sure his hip sockets were developed properly or something.

His ped still asks about his hips...but she's confused and forgets

that he was born with clubfoot!
