Guest guest
LaRena, My son is treated at the Shriner's in Sacramento. He is now nearly 3 years old and doing very well. There are 2 doctors there who are using the Ponseti method with tremendous success: Dr Lerman (who has gone through the paperwork involved in getting on Dr Ponseti's list of qualified physicians) and Dr Boakes (who has not). When your friend's client calls to make an appointment, she needs to be very clear that she wants to see one of these doctors. There are doctors there who are *still not* using the Ponseti method. She can also ask to go through the " application " process over the phone and this will probably get her an appointment sooner. Here is the contact information: Shriners Hospitals for Children 2425 Stockton Blvd. Sacramento, CA 95817 Tel: I hope this helps. Please pass along my email address ( powellbugs at yahoo dot com) if she would like to get in touch with me. I have a friend who is a doula and she has a client that has a clubfoot baby. I am in the Reno-Sparks area and there are currently no Ponseti Dr's. here. My son is a patient of Dr. Colburn. I have been told that there is a Ponseti method Dr. in the Sacramento area at a Shriners hospital. Does anyone know if this is true? Is this Dr. any good? any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks LaRena

Guest guest
Hi LaRena, You can also call Dr. Lerman and speak to him on the phone first. When I was searching for Ponseti doctors in northern and southern California, I called him, left a message with a nurse and he called me right back. Explain to him what you are looking for and he will answer all your questions. He's a very nice gentleman. Good luck! and -J'nee, bcf, born 01.07.06, DBB 23/7 > > I have not been active for awhile.
