I, too, could not help but chuckle when I read your e-mail, . Both myself and my 23-year old daughter have been diagnosed with celiac disease. I would like to tell you that she is available, but, alas, she is not. She has been dating a nice young man for over a year now, and the relationship seems to be very serious. He loves her and is very supportive of her restrictions, including dining at restaurants. In fact, there is an attorney here at work whose partner has celiac disease, and she is also very supportive of him. It is hilarious when all six of us go to dinner together and try to order food because he has even more restrictions than just gluten! We try to keep our sense of humor whenever possible!

There will be someone out there for you, celiac-diagnosed or not (I would be interested if I was 30 years younger and single................). You sound wonderful!!! I think your approach of e-mailing the group is very sweet. Good luck!

This made me laugh... Maybe you could try hanging out at Walgreens by the anti-diarrheals, and meet someone. (Just kidding.)

It must be hard to be single and Celiac, due to the special diet needs we have. It's not like single Celiacs can just go to any old restaurant for a dinner date. Even family get togethers are now difficult for me. My mother-in-law actually asked me if I would mind going to dinner, and just having something to drink while the rest of the family ate! (My husband and I declined.) He's not a Celiac, but he is very supportive.
