Guest guest
are you serious? no clips on the chest? MY GOD!! know what would happen to a child without that in the case of an accident? They could theoretically be completely launched out of the seat! OMG, I find that appalling! The clip should absolutely be there, and at armpit height. If it's lower than the armpits you increase the risk of the child coming right out. (can't tell you how many times I've cringed seeing kids with the clip too low...) wow. I'm really glad has a good seat! Guest guest
Yes, I've heard of that happening in accidents, especially in older kids, like 2 year olds. I have no idea why none of the car seats here have those chest clips. All they have is the arm straps and one across the waist. Bad, I know. A friend bought a chest clip attachment when she was in the US that fits to her car seat as an add-on. It's very scary when you consider how many bad drivers we have here. The timing worked out great for us because was getting too big for his infant seat and we were going to the US anyway, so I ordered one for when we arrived at my sisters and we took it home with us. We fly quite a bit both in South Africa and to visit family in Europe/the US, so we even bought a zip-up nylon bag with 2 wheels that's especially for carseats (I think it was from Babies R Us), so we are really styling here! Guest guest
Guilty - to a small degree. We live in a teeny tiny town, the streets don't even have any lines painted on them. Well bopping a few blocks up to the post office for example, I don't mess with seats and belts - generally speakign we don't even pass another car on the road there or back. s. Re: OT - Car seats Ugh, talk about cringing, I can't stand it when I am dropping the kids off at daycare and see the plethora of parents who don't have their kids buckled in, let their kids just jump out of the car and run across the parking lot, or let their 5 year olds RIDE IN THE FRONT SEAT with NO CAR SEAT!!!
