Guest guest
Marcy, There is a train station within steps from the hotel. I know there are several who have taken it to get into downtown Chicago and see the sites, but I'm always too busy at the convention to tear myself away. Just ask around - or ask at the hotel desk. The people there are very friendly and helpful. And the train station is clean and well-lit. Jodi Z
Guest guest
, Dress casually, but bring a sweater because sometimes the air conditioning is just too cold. And make sure you all have bathing suits because the two pools are great. The main pool is half indoors and half outdoors. And it is heated. The other pool, where the party on Saturday is, is not heated, so the water can get pretty chilly. Make sure you get your share of towels by the pools, though. They run out quickly and can take some time to be replaced. As for food, there are two places in the hotel to eat: the bar and the restaurant. Both places are child friendly. But they can be expensive, too. And crowded. Usually there are breakfast and lunch carts available so you can grab a quick take along meal. Dinner, if you have signed up, is in the ballroom and provided by Magic. The gift shop has a few snacks, too. There is a grocery store a short walking distance from the hotel, too. You will see it from the front of the hotel and across the parking lot. But I usually bring a bunch of snacks so I don't have to spend the extra money and time in search of food for Max. Actually, last year he went to the restaurant by himself and had the breakfast buffet. Lucky me - they thought he was much younger than 16 and charged him only for the kids' buffet! I guess there are advantages to looking younger. Just one more thing: breakfast and lunch can get pretty crowded. Breakfast is worse than lunch, I believe. You can request a refrigerator in your room and keep milk and cereal there. Jodi Z
