There really aren't any doctors in that region that are experienced

in treating older children with clubfoot. In fact, I don't know of

any doctors that I would personally recommend for an infant there

either. I think Dr. Showalter in Boise is the closest.

Is a trip to Iowa City possible for you? Have you read Joyce's

story about adopting from China and seeking out Dr. Ponseti

in Iowa? It's at http://members.tripod.com/ponseti_links-ivil under

the " older kids " section.

The doctors that initially treated (poorly) were in Utah.

I would recommend going to Dr. Ponseti or Dr. Dobbs in St. Louis if

at all possible. There's also Dr. Colburn in California, who is

very experienced with the Ponseti method, but I'm not sure how

many " older " kids that he's treated.

Please keep us posted! Do you know when you'll be heading to China

yet?

As says, the docs in Utah aren't good. Dr. Buzz Showalter is in

Boise, Idaho. That is where we go. I do not know his experience with

older children's feet. He started with my Tenny's foot when Tenny was 5

months. He did a wonderful job. Iowa is probably your best bet, but

Idaho would definitely be better than Utah.
