Guest guest
Ti, I got the same advice as well Sure, it's wonderful if you can get in 60-80 gms of protein the first month as well, but most people can't do it..I was also told to mainly get in 40-64oz of fluids anyway I can..that included Gatorade even though it's high in sugar. If I was hungry, I was told it's more important to eat what stays down, hence Dr's actually recommending carbs like mashed potatoes, etc Yesterday was the first day I think I actually ate 60gms of protein! (It's a lot easier when you wake up at 4:15am instead of noon *grins*) I felt like I ate a *lot* though, even though I didn't eat a lot at one time. Just to check portion size..I could eat the innards of a palm sized chicken pot pie in one sitting...also ate the top crust, but left all the bottom and sides. Does this sound like too much ?? I then could eat again 3-4 hours later, is that normal ? I know I sound like a paranoid newbie post-op, but I need to know if I should be eating less! Guest guest
Anita, I ate my first meal the other night. Chinese food. I had some mongolian beef...about 3 pieces, some bbq pork, about 3 pieces and a pot sticker. It all stayed down and then I started panicking that I ate too much. (doc left me with a 6oz stomach because of my lower bmi) Laughing. I just can't wait til I stop obsessing about how much I am or am not eating! The next day I couldn't fit anything down there! So I think this is how " normal " people eat. The old cave man use to binge when food was available, then not eat for a couple of days if necessary! Maybe gorging all the time, or starving all the time isn't normal? laughing You are doing so great girlfriend and I watch your progress carefully, so please keep checking in with your reports!
