Guest guest
Hi everyone, My son's droopy left eyelid began to develop gradually around the same time that he began exhibiting signs of autism. He has had 2 eyelid surgery's and they did not help at all. That would make sense if the origin of the drooping was not a weakness in the muscle but a problem with the nerve (third cranial nerve) that controls the muscles that hold up the eyelid. I was wondering if anyone else on the list has a child with a drooping eyelid and if you have found a successful therapy? I still do not know what caused the drooping eyelid, however, since it coincided exactly with the onset of autistic symptoms, I cannot help but think that they are somehow connected??? Anyone with any ideas-I would REALLY appreciate your help. Please, email me off the list. Thanks, ---------------------------------
Guest guest
I know this is a little different, but my son developed a lazy eye at the onset of his autism, which was right after MMR vaccine at 12 months. I know his eye problem is related and I would think that your son's problem could be also. OT-Anyone have a child with a droopy eyelid (ptosis)?
