Now that I am getting closer to surgery, I guess I should get some of

these.....where do you order them again?

Anyone who had Dr. Hess, did you order your vitamins before surgery or just

get the list from him in the hospital as to what he wanted you to take? and

what exactly does Dr. Hess have you take?

Carole,

Dr. Hess will give you perscriptions for the different vitamins, etc just

before you check out of the hospital....

There is a pharmacy called Jak's in the medical building next to the hospital

where you can get all of them filled....Word to the wise, don't try to use a

credit card in Jak's....Jak's charge an extra $5 each time you use a credit

or debit card, which I thought was quite a rip off...

You can get ADEKs at Walmart, just call the pharmacy ahead of time

and they will order for you. I just got mine from CF Foundation,

they are cheaper--but the first bottle will get you thru until you

register and get your doc to send a RX to them.

I just started taking them..I like that they are chewable. I

actually suck on them. One in the morning and one at night.

Yes, now $20/bottle for non-CF patients. But, they pay postage

for >$25 orders. They also appreciate your getting 6-months' worth

of your order all at once to save them shipping and handling costs.

Very reasonable, since they are there to serve the CF community, and

they lose a little bit of money on each sale at $13. Scandipharm on

the web charges $21.95 plus shipping.

I got 300 pills for $65. accoring to the invoice in the box. Which is

less than $13/bottle. THe girl on the phone had told me $20 a bottle,

but she was kind of daffy, called me 3 times to get me set up in

their system. You do have to order 6 month supply at a time. I

guess I will wait for the charge to come through and see what I

really will be paying.

Thanks Steve, but how can they lose money if we are buying more from them?

You would think the more people are buying the more they make (or certainly

dont lose!)

I wonder if the neighborhood drugs would sell them for less? What about

Wal Mart and their cost?

$13 was such a great deal when buying 6 at a time!

Dr. Hess has you take the following. YOu can get them after surgery at JAKS

pharmacy which is in the medical professional building by the hosptial after

you have your surgery. The calcium is very reasonable priced there and the

Allergy A and D is fairly reasonable (pretty cheap anywhere that you buy it)

1 Allergy A & D 3 time a day

1 Cal appetite 3 times a day

1 multi vitamin (to start with just find the smallest ones you can)this you

could look for now) once a day

1 potassium (prescription) twice a day
