Guest guest
I can't believe they would be so stubborn. They are your children regardless of who is watching them. I would print out some information for them, including some drastic before and after pictures, and maybe take a look at the cranial tech website. If they could see what was happening maybe they would help. Also maybe you can convince them to give it a trial basis. The children will most likely stop sweating so much within a week. I hope they will come around a bit. This must be really frustrating. They should realize that this is something that could affect their relationship with you for the rest of your lives. Are your in-laws immigrants too? Maybe you can find someone from their community who might help you convince them this is worthwhile. -christine sydney, 4.5 yrs, starband grad > > > I finally got the helmets for my 14.5 months twin boys last night. I was happy. But then I tried to put the helmets on them for 1 hour. The grandparents were totally pissed off when they see their grandsons in helmets and when they took off the helmets, of course there's a lot of sweat. They were super angry and yelling at me, it seems that I did the worst thing in the world to my babies... They said they won't put the helmets on what so ever during day time when they watch the kids. > > > > My husband didn't support my decision from the beginning, which makes the situation worse. i am an immigrant in Canada. My in-laws are here looking after my children since I just re-started working last week. It's too late to put the boys to day care due to the long waiting list. I just cannot do anything to prevent the grandparents from not putting the helmets on. I know I could quit and watch my kids myself, but then there's not enough money for everything. > > > > I just paid ~$6000 dolloars yesterday for the helmets without knowing if the insurance company would cover (even if they do, it's only going to be 50%), and just after one night, they are asking me to throw the helmets away because they won't use them for sure.... I really don't know what to do... They just won't listen to me at all. >
Guest guest
Hello, You need to be so strong and talk to your husband to explain in good terms the need of the helmets to his family, and if not, maybe ask for some days in your job and stay home to take care for your boys, the money doesnt matter rigth now, you can woory for that later and spend your time with your baby boys, maybe you can find dome articles about the complication of the plagiocephaly amd meake them read about. Be strong and brave, I know about problems with in laws and dont let them scream at you, and dont argue at them just talk to your husband and let him to struggle with his family. Good luck!!! Find some help with your family also. > > > I finally got the helmets for my 14.5 months twin boys last night. I was happy. But then I tried to put the helmets on them for 1 hour. Guest guest
Hello everyone again, I just want to post some update here. I finally got the grandpa, grandma and my husband to agree to put the helmets on my twins, it's been two days already. There have been a lot of fights, then tears (from me of course, ^V^) and emotional talks, FINALLY they thought that if I don't band my boys the family will fall apart. No mater what, I am all happy now!!!! Thanks everyone for all your support! Leina > > > I finally got the helmets for my 14.5 months twin boys last night. I was happy. Guest guest
good for you! I think you should get some sort of award for your performance. Whatever it takes you have to do it as a mom and always trust your instincts. You are a good mom and your children will be grateful to have you.
