Guest guest
Our daughter started a Hanger helmet at 11 months in the dead heat of summer and she was a champ - really was no big deal we just goo-gooed over how pretty she looked in her "hat". Would even nap in the boat in her helmet! However, we were disappointed with the whole Hanger experience and are actually now in a Cranial band a second go around starting at almost 17 months and so far are very pleased - being older she does take it off herself quite often but I don't make a big deal of it - leave it off 5 minutes or so and put back on and she might fuss less than 30 seconds and then moves on. They are so curious and active at this age they get over things quickly and move on. As far as sleeping she adjusted very well - although since she is a tummy sleeper she would end up sleeping on her face at first, scaring us, but adjusted easily. Good luck! We are likely going to start our daughter with the DOC Band in the next couple of weeks. What can I (realistically) expect as far as her adjustment to it, especially sleep-wise? She is 10 months old, so I'm wondering if she'll have a more difficult adjustment period than a younger baby would. I'm a pessimist and am, of course, envisioning the worst! :)Thanks!Kristi
Guest guest
That sounds promising! I'm mostly worried about sleep and am thinking she will probably figure out how to take it off, too. Oh well, we'll give it a try! Thanks for your response and good luck! > > Our daughter started a Hanger helmet at 11 months in the dead heat of summer and > she was a champ - really was no big deal we just goo-gooed over how pretty she > looked in her " hat " . Would even nap in the boat in her helmet! However, we > were disappointed with the whole Hanger experience and are actually now in a > Cranial band a second go around starting at almost 17 months and so far are very > pleased - being older she does take it off herself quite often but I don't make > a big deal of it - leave it off 5 minutes or so and put back on and she might > fuss less than 30 seconds and then moves on. They are so curious and active at > this age they get over things quickly and move on. > > > As far as sleeping she adjusted very well - although since she is a tummy > sleeper she would end up sleeping on her face at first, scaring us, but > adjusted easily. > > Good luck! > > > > > ________________________________ > From: kmr8k <kristi.farouki@...> > Plagiocephaly > Sent: Tue, January 25, 2011 3:58:22 PM > Subject: Adjustment to DOC Band > >  > Thanks to those who responded to my last message.
