You have probably done this, but did you try any local shops? I

looked up in the yellow pages under 'orthopedic and orthotic

prosthetics' and found a shop right around the corner which carried

the boots and bar AND accepted our BCBS. We have Empire BCBS (NYC

area)and live in central Jersy. I had CG Medical(732)545-2885 do

some repair work and it was fully covered, so I would think a new

purchase would be too- I know they had new Markells and the red

adjustable bar in stock, I saw them. If you use CG Medical, please

be very specific about the shoes you want (size, hole in the back,

no hole in the back) and the measurements you would like for the

angle of the shoes on the bar; I'm not sure their understanding of

the Ponseti method is quite accurate, though they are very well

meaning. I found them to be helpful both with the repair and the

insurance paperwork.

Another option is to contact Dr. Herzenberg in Baltimore and find

out who he uses for orthotics. Good luck!

We have BCBS and we use Hanger orthotics. Is there one near you? We've had great

luck with them.

Markell Boots & Bar AND is an in-network provider AND can get the boots

and bars to us before next Friday?? I'm in Northern VA, but willing to

drive anywhere to pick it up if necessary.

Have you tried calling the insurance company to find out which local

companies are covered? That would give you a place to start at least.
