Guest guest
's feet do not seem to have circulation issues. They don't appear to be cold or blue, but we are in the s 23/7 so they are usually covered with socks. Poor little guy! I feel for him! Carol and , 10-27-05 bcf, s 23/7 Circulation problems Hi again everyone, Leif has always had some circulation problems in his feet, but it doesn't seem to be improving now that he is down in hours in the brace (16/7). I asked our Ortho and he said it was part of the Club Foot deformity. Have other people experienced this? I massage them and that seems to help...any other suggestions? Sometimes they are so cold they are blue and purple, the poor thing. nne August 04/04 Leif 09/05 BCF
Guest guest
I have some noticed some circulation issues with Lilee. Heat seems to keep them better circulated. So I had a professional seamstress make her fleese booties that fit over her foot, up her leg, and around the bar. Maybe try something like this, or warmer socks? Guest guest
nne, I have heard Dr. Ponseti talking about how some children actually have some genetic differences in their circulatory system- lacking major veins and nerves in the leg. I don't think this is necessarily something that " comes with the territory " . hasn't had any circulatory issues. Do you see this in his hands too, or just his feet? Personally, I'd keep an eye on it and if it doesn't improve as he grows and is more active physically, ask about a referral to a specialist. > > Hi again everyone, > Leif has always had some circulation problems in his feet, but it > doesn't seem to be improving now that he is down in hours in the brace > (16/7). Guest guest
I saw this a lot with my son when he was first out of the casts as well. It used to worry me a lot! I would see it especially when someone was holding him, his feet and legs would look purplish. Neither of the docs really had a firm answer, so I just kept an eye on it, massaged them, etc. My son is now 2 1/2, and it just seemed that it went away when he began cruising and then walking. Hope this helps... Kristan mother to Cullen bcf 7/23/03 Re: Circulation problems Good idea, but it is actually when he is out of the brace that they get cold! Guest guest
We have the same problem. Logan has a left club foot. Sometimes the foot almost looks dark purple. We just massage it. The dr said it may or may not go away. and Logan Circulation problems Hi again everyone, Leif has always had some circulation problems in his feet, but it doesn't seem to be improving now that he is down in hours in the brace (16/7). Guest guest
Early on I did notice this with , but it never lasted very long, so I thought it had to do with wearing the shoes and pulling them tight. Guess I was wrong. Anyway, his feet don't do this anymore, or at least I haven't noticed it in many months. He is almost 16 months old (geez...how time flies). 11/19/04 and Rich wrote: We have the same problem. Logan has a left club foot. Sometimes the foot almost looks dark purple. We just massage it. Guest guest
lol, Darbi's legs did this too. Both though (unilateral right CF) but it was resolved by me not slinging her and letting her legs hang out of the sling in the FAB and/or not carrying her so my arm pressed there either. Seemed if I put pressure under her buttocks it was worse, purple legs on babies isn't really something any mom wants to see. Dr. wasn't worried, but I was so I stopped slingling her (carrying in a sling, not throwing her lol) and yes, it went away after time. Talk about time flying... it's been almost 3y since I saw that myself :~} Kori At 03:12 PM 3/9/2006, you wrote: >Early on I did notice this with , but it never lasted very >long, so I thought it had to do with wearing the shoes and pulling >them tight. Guest guest
We had that problem with Janna, but hers never got cold. We were told that if it got cold we needed to call them. It never did though, so I'm not sure what they would've said/done. Sounds to me like definitely circulation. Maybe support the brace area more? Like instead of letting the legs dangle with the brace on them, support behind the knees? I don't know....
