Guest guest
, I think Brittanie was almost 3 before we didn't have any issues with her breathing. Hang in there it does get much better. She does still choke alot when she is trying to hurry to eat so she can play etc. She was on the oxygen for about 5 months then monitor for 9, Also it helped her if her head was elevated to sleep. Trying to keep the food and such where is should be. She slept in a recliner until she was 3, and even now at 6 will not sleep unless we have several pillows stacked up for her. I don't really know how we did it because I know my Karter would never stay in a chair to sleep he would be all over. Good Luck Tabitha JGOODIN wrote: Tabitha, Just reading your post. I am so glad to know these things correct themselves. has a similar problem in that the muscles are not pushing his food all the way down and it is collecting there. He has stopped breathing several times in his sleep. They say he will grow out of it, but at 16 months, I am ready for that to happen. Thanks for posting this. She was on oxygen for some time and then on a monitor at home for 9 months. Scary when that would go off in the middle of the night. What they found out later was that the flap that goes into your stomach wasn't working properly and the food was blocking the airway. This is something that has corrected itself. Just wanted to let you know now she is a healthy 6 year old and is hardly ever sick, been on a antibiotic maybe 2 times. Good Luck. She is on oxygen because she has tiny episodes-she works so hard to eat/swallow that she will sometimes forget to breathe. These episodes were pretty frequent at first however now they are happening 2 or 3 times a day. They hope with the next checkup that she will be off oxygen(next week). I will send picts to the cfpics group site and get your guys opinion! thanks, kathleen > > > > Anybody out there with positional clubfoot knowledge?
