Guest guest
I'm sure he probaly can stay with you. We stayed in the Haven House last weekend at St. Louis. They would let you bring a guest with you or your other children. This house is like the RMH where family stays that there kids are in the hospital or has Dr. appointment. Just call them and ask them. Larissa and 7-15-05 Halley Prestage wrote: Hello, I just wanted to share what's going on with Keira. We just got our 's last week and so far so good. By the way, for anyone else trying to avoid PVC and pthalates in their homes, the shoes don't contain any of these harmful components in its materials. I had noticed a plastic sort of smell when I was near them so I e-mailed MD Ortho to ask about this. Just another reason to love them! For anyone who remembered, I had e-mailed Dr. Ponseti's comments about Keira's foot being atypical and hyperabducted to her doctor about 10 days ago and still hadn't heard anything from him. He e-mailed today after I contacted him again and it sounded as though he doesn't think it is possible to really collaborate on any sort of treatment over the phone with Dr. Ponseti (I had asked if he would mind calling Dr. Ponseti to discuss Keira's foot). He wants to talk about it more when we come for an appointment next week. In the meantime, I've been sort of working on contingency plans in case I feel that Dr. doesn't know what to do. I had e-mailed KidCares program at Northwest Airlines (thanks to this board- I found out about that program) and they have accepted Keira! I was so happy about that! Also, I spoke with Dr. Ponseti today and he thinks the longest we'd be there is one week so that is good too! I am not sure what the treatment costs would be but I don't think it could be too much for him to see her a couple of times. His assistant, Joyce, is only in on Mon & Fri so she will know all of that. Just as an aside, Dr. Ponseti rocks! Doesn't he? I know you have all been saying that but when you talk to him, you really understand what a great caring man he is! I told my dad about going down to Iowa and he said he will come with me. I am so relieved about that because I was feeling overwhelmed about going down alone with a baby. Now I just have to get the passports organized and coordinate everything and that's it! By the way, for those who've stayed at RMH, would my dad stay at RMH with me? He and my mom will just get a hotel together if she comes along too but I remember Matteo Procacci from this board accompanied his daughter and grandson to Iowa and I think he stayed at the RMH. Sorry to go on and on but I am sort of excited about how this seems to just be falling in place as though we are meant to go! Thanks, Halley
Guest guest
Hi Haley, The first time we (me, my husband, parents and baby) went to Iowa we weren't anticipating staying at all, but the RMH had a 'suite' open which had 2 queen beds in one room and a couch in another room. My husband and I pulled the mattress from one bed into the living room area so my daughter wouldn't wake up my parents. It was just the luck of it that the suite was open the night we were there, so I'd call them to see if it's available. It was a little bit more money than the regular rooms, but not much more.
