Guest guest
Our son Max is now out of the FAB! Dr. Herzenberg wants to see him more regularly now -- every 3 months. He has an overcorrection and I think he wants to be sure that the feet start to reposition on their own. He will take x-rays at our next appointment. I would be interested in hearing from those whose kids have had the post FAB experience. I have noticed that he has trouble keeping his feet in a straight position -- such as what is needed to pedal a tricycle. Max's case is somewhat unusual in that he is only 2 and a half -- he had a mild bilateral case, and did not require tenotomies -- and he was casted first by Dr. H -- at 10 days of age. If I can answer anyone else's questions, I would be happy to do so. Best to everyone- t mom to Max (bilateral CF)
Guest guest
Juiliet... is 2 yrs old and just came out of a relapse cast for a month. They just came off last Thursday. He is not bending his legs when he walks because of the casts. His feet now are also overcorrected and he is having trouble turning them to the correct position. I was curious if this will correct itself. I am getting him a physical therapy evaluation tommorrow. Anyone have advice? Guest guest
t, I'm curious, did Dr. Herzenberg try reducing the angle of Max's shoes (abduction) for a period to see how his feet reacted to the reduced angle over time? Was he diagnosed with loose ligaments? (can he hyperextend his knees, fingers, wrists, elbows etc.) & (3-16-00, left cf)
Guest guest
I am curious here too! My son is loose ligamented-it still scares me what he can do with his joints, however, he has just had his angle of his shoes reduced to help tighten his ligaments. His doctor still believes brace wear will be necessary until he is at least 4 years of age! Just curious! kathleen mom to david 19 mo old bcf fab 12/7 > > t, > I'm curious, did Dr. Herzenberg try reducing the angle of Max's shoes > (abduction) for a period to see how his feet reacted to the reduced > angle over time?
