Guest guest
That's great news. I think we all live in fear of relapse or fear that the feet are not corrected properly, etc. Hearing good news sure takes the weight off! Did Dr. P say why he wanted down to just 16 hours? nokitty00 wrote: Y'all might remember that my husband & I had decided to make an appointment with Dr. Ponseti to get his opinion of 's feet. When I called and spoke with Joyce, she suggested that I email the pictures of 's feet to see what Dr. Ponseti had to say before we made the trip to Iowa. I have been on pins & needles waiting to hear back from him - anyway, I talked to Joyce today & Dr. Ponseti said that 's feet look well corrected but that it is safer to abduct to 60 degrees (one of our concerns was that our shoes were only at about a 35* angle). He said we should gradually move them out and monitor how responds to the change. He also said should be in the bar 16 hrs/day...we are currently doing 23 and will probably continue to do 22-23 until we see his doctor at the end of May. You are probably the only parents who can understand how happy this makes me! Kaci (, 12/17/05, bcf, DBB 23/7)
Guest guest
Well I tried to reply once but got an error. I apologize if I post twice! I spoke with Joyce and was so happy to hear 's feet looked good that I didn't even question the hours. I think maybe because he has been in the brace almost 3 months, but I thought it normally was reduced more gradually than this? Maybe I will email Joyce to be sure I understood correctly.
