Guest guest
- my sons (and I for that matter) are very sensitive to Apple Juice - straight - not watered down. Prune juice might be a first choice - but, I'm always lucky with the apple juice. Look out though if it works! Keep us posted. - H > Autumn has not had a bm since monday and even then it was not much. > She is regularly on Miralax and I have even upped the dose now from 1/2 > capful to about 3/4 capful to try to help but nothing. Guest guest
- sorry - I didn't realize the first time that you said Monday. If it were me - I would try the juice while you call the doc. In my opinion - and it's only my opinion - 5 days is a long time for her not to have a BM - even for a non-rss child. I'm sure you know that already - I think my docs tell me 3 days - 4 if there has been a little something. But, with RSS children - it's probably a little different - I never go more than 3 days for Ian only because I can usually get something by then - but, every child is different. The other thing with RSS children that I do know - from experience - is that when RSS kids get " full " they become less and less able to fill their bellies with food and that equals nutrition - and that equals - as you know - not a good situation to be in. Keep us posted. Hope I've helped in some way. - H > Autumn has not had a bm since monday and even then it was not much. > She is regularly on Miralax and I have even upped the dose now from 1/2 > capful to about 3/4 capful to try to help but nothing. Guest guest
Thanks. Our 'miracle' happend this morning (don't want to give too much info!) A friend had mentioned something to me and I looked it up on the web. It said to massage stomach and push gently but firmly on it about a couple finger widths below the belly button for a few minutes to stimulate...2 hours later I guess it worked or it was just good timing! > > Autumn has not had a bm since monday and even then it was not much. > > She is regularly on Miralax and I have even upped the dose now from > 1/2 > > capful to about 3/4 capful to try to help but nothing. Guest guest
For some reason, apples seem to work in my family. It seems like it will do what you need it to do such as help with a bowel movement or its also in the BRAT (bananas, rice, apples, tea) diet when you have a stomach virus.
