Guest guest
and yet some cultures wait at least a solid year before advancing past breast milk.... feeding is a personal choice. I do think it's possible to begin too young, though. The stomach needs to be developed enough to manafacture the enzymes necessary to digest the food that is being put in to it. They are not born with the ability to eat solids (compared to say, a horse) because their digestive system is not ready for it. A plump thriving baby on breast milk doesn't need solids till at least six months, and maybe even 12 months. I don't know how Formula factors in to these things though. Formula isn't mother's milk. Some studies suggest starting solids too early will lead to future eating disorders, like being a picky eater leading to nutritional problems, because both mentally/physically/emotinally their system was not ready for that milestone. didn't start solids till after six months and he's a great eater; my dh twisted my arm in to giving Everett solids as early as 2 months - these days Everett is the most God-awful eater I ever met. He hates to eat, is very picky, shoot, when it comes to food he is down right neurotic. Coincidence or that study proving itself in my house? Not sure! Just " food for thought " . s. Third Set Well on wed. we went and got Che's third set of casts. His feet look much diffrent I am so amazed. I am so happy that this a method other than surgery. I will post a pic of his feet that we took at the Dr.'s He seems to be used to them other than banging them together to hear the sound haha! He has already chipped away at the plaster. Anywho a little OT Lately he has not been getting full with his milk so I went to the store and bought some cereal to mix with his milk. Well this mourning I fed him a regular 6oz bottle with out cereal, and he threw it all up. When it was time for his next feeding I put in cereal, he did not throw up, although he did get diarrhea. Now did he get that because he has to get used to the cereal??? Later on today I gave him a reg. bottle with out cereal and again he threw it up?!? Now that I put him to sleep I gave him a bottle with cereal and he was fine fell asleep with no problems. I am lost any thoughts???? He was acting fine wasnt cranky or anything. *I think he might be teething??* Thanks Tina
