Guest guest
Hi Gretchen I took down to see Dr. van Bosse yesterday. We saw him in his office on 18th St. First of all, there are 2 parking garages right on the same block as the office, so it was very convenient. We were there for quite a while and the staff couldn't have been nicer. The nurses found an empty exam room for me to nurse the baby in when it was time for him to eat and were a pleasure to deal with overall. I was extremely happy with Dr. van Bosse. He thoroughly examined from head to toe and took a lot of time explaining to me what he was doing and why. He was very gentle and soothing with the baby and he kept me very involved when he was changing 's casts so that I could try to calm him. He answered all of my questions and then some and I couldn't have been more pleased. I feel 100% comfortable having him treat 's clubfeet. Next week we will see him in the Clubfoot Clinic at the Hospital for Joint Diseases. His office made all of the arrangements to have us treated there, yet billed through his office because he accepts our insurance. He works side by side with Dr. Lehman, who runs the clinic and whose secretary told me to bring a check for $425 for the initial consultation, so I am very happy with these arrangements. The hospital is about a block away, so I already know where the garages are and know parking won't be a problem. If you would like, I can update you on my experiences there after we go. As for , his new casts have his legs very awkwardly positioned, so the poor little guy is not exactly comfortable and much crankier than usual. We both spent some time crying yesterday - him much more than me. He has been getting lots of extra hugs and TLC and hopefully he will be able to adjust to the casts. I hope you are feeling well and while I am just a novice at all of this clubfoot stuff, I'll be happy to help you any way I can. Be well! -Anne
