Guest guest
Welcome to the group. There is a plagio online group in Spain that may be more helpful to you in terms of language and resources. I know there are 2 docband clinics in spain and a few other starband clinics across europe, but I don't remember anyone getting treatment in Italy. Also wanted to say you shouldn't feel guilty about not noticing. It is actually quite common. Or even if you see the problem the doctor may tell you " don't worry " the way my ped did (completely not helpful). We all try to do the best for our babies, and once you know about plagio it is much easier to deal with. My daughter had very good results from her starband, and hopefully your baby will too. -christine sydney, 4.5 yrs, starband grad > > Hi everyone, > > My son Leonardo is 6 months old. Guest guest
Hi everyone, Thank you all for your kind answers. I apologize for no getting back early, but it's been really crazy times for me. We got Leonardo's band last Thursday at the orthotics. We spent a lot of time doing fitting but unfortunately I believe it is not fitting well… in order to make place to Leonardo's glasses, the orthotic took off the " sideburns " of the band and now it is very loose. The band shifts down over his glasses when he is lying down on his back, and therefore the glasses make pressure over his nose. With this movement, the helmet scratches his forehead and after only few minutes it is completely red and would not go always even after one night sleeping without the band… In the other hand, I don't see any red spots in the back of his head. Is that correct? At the end of the day he has the forehead and the nose completely injured…. I really can't stand seeing him like that. Did anyone's child wear band and glasses at the same time? Any tips on how to do that? As a full time working mom, it is not easy for me to travel 2 hours to make adjustments… I'm really confused about what to do. By the way, as I told the other post, we don't have as much choices as in the USA for helmets providers. In fact, we have no choice here. I know only two independent orthotists in the whole country (one in Rome e the other one in Bologna). We went to Bologna as it is closer to our home (in Milan). We pay 150 euros for the doctor appointment, and he gave us the name and telephone number of an independent orthotic. This guy has a huge orthotic center, but he doesn't want anything for the bands. I mean it, the bands are for free. We are having issues because of the glasses (he never did a band to be wore with glasses before), but everyone say that his bands are perfect! I will post photos as soon as possible. And I heard that the Rome independent orthotic asks 5-6 thousands euros for one band. Such diversity you will find in Italy… Thank you all Simone e Leonardo (6,5 Mo) > > > > Hi everyone, > > > > My son Leonardo is 6 months old.
