Guest guest
Hello everyone, We're new to this but so pleased you're all here, you were recommended to us by Dr Lerman @ Shriner's Hospital, Sacramento, CA. Camden is 18mths and doing v well with his treatment, he started the Ponseti method when 6days old, 5 casts, 1 tenectomy, boots & bar 23/7 for 3mths, 12/7 for the last 12mths. He's now a boisterous little boy and I can't envisage what the next few years are going to be like, so here's my questions! Do you move your todds into child's beds or keep them in cribs until they are done with the B & B? If they are in beds now, what happens if they fall out and do they crawl into mom & dads room to say they are thirsty/hungry/couldn't sleep/had a nightmare/fell out & can't get back in? Where do you get sleeping bags/gro bags/sleep sacks larger than 12mths? & does anyone use sheets/duvets, if so how?! Thank you in advance to those able to advise, I'm going to have a nice cup of tea & read more of the threads here, this is great! :-)

Guest guest
if you are handy with a needle/thread-there is a pattern for a 2t or larger sleep sack in the files section. Also-if you go online to www.onestepahead.com you can order a larger sleep sack-they run up to XL which has been plenty big for my little guy. We have not ventured to the crib/toddler transition yet-I like having him in the crib as I know he is safe and sound-and can't come wake me up-Heehee. Guest guest
We just moved from crib to toddler bed. Transition was so easy. I thought that she might fall out of bed easier with an " anchor " on her feet, but no trouble at all. She was so excited to be in her " big girl " bed, and went right down the first night we moved her. She has always been very easy to put to bed and always sleeps through the night. I just have a crib sheet on the bed and use a down throw blanket for her cover. We do have the bed pushed up against the wall, so she could only fall out on the one side. She hasn't fallen out so far... Good luck with your " big boy " ! Guest guest
My 2 year old is kind of smallfor his age and slept in a play pen till about his 2nd birthday but then we moved him to the bottom bunk bed. We put a wood rail across it, high enough to stop him from rolling out, but low enough he can't get stuck under it either. He crawls in and out of bed with his FAB on easily. hth, s. Guest guest
Kathleen - thx so much for this - have ordered an xl sleep sack online which should fit him for a few more months, he's growing so fast! I have also got Grandma lined up with needle & thread ready to make one but couldn't find the patterns in the links. Is it me or has it gone?? Guest guest
Thanks Jen - I think both you and number23 everettsmommy are very brave! I'm pleased it's possible and appreciated your suggestions. I think I might leave things as they are for a few more months, it was a relief that noone came back with any horror stories of long term psychological damage to their crib-bound child! Cx I think I may have replied to the wrong list earlier... Anyway, my twins are still in their cots/cribs (toddler sized though) at 3 1/2 years old. At least they can't fall out and they simply call me in the morning when they wake up, they don't seem to mind. They've never tried to climb out even thought they climb up everything else, possibly because it's not that easy with the baby sleeping bags they're wearing. Anyway, I don't think they suffer any psychological damage... I keep thinking that we should take the sides off (the cots convert to beds) but keep postponing to avoid them falling out of bed. with (3y) and Alister (3y, right CF, Ponseti method, UK) ___________________________________________________________ Yahoo!
