Guest guest
Regarding my indulging -- may I remind everyone that my insane daughter isn't 4 years old like some of you have-- she is NINE AND A HALF!!!! Yet she won't try and swallow any meds. Her 8 year old brother can swallow any pill; won't try. I even tried bribing her!!!! Didn't work.... Jenn > > > Hi Kathy, > > > > > > A couple ideas??? Guest guest
Jenn, of course has a gtube so doesn't need to actually swallow any medication. However, Becca has a WONDERFUL (note the sarcasm here) gag reflex. She swallows medicine and throws it right back up at you, no matter what flavor. When she started on her new medication, we couldn't figure out what to do. The only med she doesn't throw up is the bubble gum antibiotic, so we got her medicine flavored with bubble gum flavor (the doctor wrote the prescription so that the pharmacy could add as much flavor as needed and dispense the appropriate amount). Anyway, Becca now takes a sip of water, a drop of honey, downs the medicine (which she still says is yucky), a quick drink, and the rest of the 1/2 teaspoon of honey. Works for us, Judith, Steve, (RSS) and (non RSS) 5 year old twins
