Guest guest
Hi all! My son is 10 months and half way through his three months of banding. He has moderate plagio with the classic flat spot, misaligned ears, forehead bossing, and facial/eye asymmetry. My primary reason for banding was his facial asymmetry since it is most noticeable, and I'm starting to get a little anxious about what to expect at the end of treatment. I know that I need to prepare myself for the fact that he's not going to come out with perfectly symmetrical eyes, but I don't know how much asymmetry to expect. His right eye was half shut when we first put on his band, and now it is fairly open, but it still looks like it is slightly smaller and lower than the other eye. This is accentuated by the fact that his hair line dips low on that side and goes up very high on the opposite side. So, though it's much better, I feel like it's still really noticeable. Also, he still has a very slight tort that we just can't seem to resolve with PT, though I still do his stretches/ exercises. My question is: How much more improvement should I expect in the second half of his treatment? Have I seen the bulk of the improvement already? Should I be working on accepting his remaining asymmetry? I would really appreciate if others can share what changes they saw later in treatment. Thanks so much!
