Hi ,

I usually don't add food coloring, since I have not added any artificial

colors or flavors back into my son's diet, so I can't help you there. I

would like to try to experiment with natural food coloring though. I would

say to make a new batch at least once a week. If it can be refrigerated at

school, it could last a bit longer. I read a post where someone used the

same recipe and used half the oil called for in the recipe, I think that I

will try this next time, because it can tend to get a bit oily, but it's the

only recipe that has come as close to the real thing. Good Luck.
